本课程主要向学生讲授管理学的基本概念、基本理论和基本方法,为各专业学生提供通识教育基础,为经济与管理类专业学生进一步的专业学习打下基础。基本教学内容为:
通过本课程的学习,理解管理的概念、管理的重要性及其作用;掌握管理的目的、管理的二重性、管理的职能;了解科学管理理论的内容,理解行为科学理论的观点及内容,把握现代管理理论发展的新趋势。理解环境对管理实践的重要性以及环境对管理的作用与影响,了解组织对环境的应对;能够把握全球化的含义与特征以及全球化中的管理实践。了解计划工作的程序。了解决策的类型,了解预测的含义和作用。理解决策制定过程与决策的影响因素。了解战略管理的内容,培养学生从事战略管理的基本能力和素质。了解什么是组织结构、组织资本、组织变革;了解沟通的含义、类别和方法,使学生掌握沟通的技巧与方法。了解控制的含义、特征和分类,理解控制过程和方法。了解什么是信息系统、管理信息系统,以及管理信息系统的发展趋势,了解什么是全面质量管理、质量保证体系与方法。
该课程先后荣获湖南大学2006年度校级精品课程、2008年度国家级精品课程、2010年度湖南省精品课程。
Course description:
Management provides you with an introduction to fundamental management concepts and principles. The course covers the evolution of management theory and examines a range of different approaches to the study of management. A detailed analysis of management functions is conducted in order to familiarize you with current management practices.
The course is divided into five modules; introduction and the evolution of management theories, planning and decision-making, Organization and Change, leading and incentive, controlling and quality management. Each week of the course addresses a core management topic such as human resource management, decision-making and organizational communication. Major themes are developed across the whole course, including the importance of strategic planning and decision-making, the need for innovation, the inevitability of change and the tendency of people to resist that change and the need for leadership. The unit also examines a number of contemporary issues that are questioning traditional managerial prerogatives.
The course draws on multi-disciplinary sources including economics, psychology, sociology and organizational behavior. A broad range of concepts is introduced across the semester that will provide you with an overview of this field of study., lay the foundation for the economics and management students for further professional learning.
