Nobel Laureate Finn Kydland Conferred Honorary Professorship at Business School of Hunan University

On the afternoon of October 25, Finn E. Kydland, the 2004 Nobel Prize Laureate in Economics, was awarded an honorary professorship at Business School of Hunan University. Professor Finn Kydland received the appointment letter at the 2013 Yuelu Management Forum of Hunan University and delivered a keynote speech titled “Policy Consistency and the Growth of Nations”.

Finn Kydland, a famed Norwegian economist, is a professor of economics at the University of California and Carnegie Mellon University. He has been awarded the 2004 Nobel Prize in Economics for his tremendous contributions to dynamic macroeconomics.

In his speech, Finn Kydland advised China to bring in more market competition for economic growth, saying that an enhanced driving force for innovation can improve the nation's international competitiveness. His thoughts and theory are of vital significance to China's economic policy setting.
